As we conclude the 40th anniversary of Art-In-Education, we hope you’ll gather in community with us to celebrate the incredible young artists who explore new mediums in WSW’s studios! This Friday, May 1st is opening reception of “Spring into the Studios,” featuring artwork by 4th grade students from Kingston City School District.🌷⭐

Since 1985, Art-In-Education has brought students to WSW’s professional Printmaking, Papermaking, and Book Arts studios to work as artists with artists. Today, Women’s Studio Workshop devotes 8 weeks a year to hosting students from Kingston City Schools for in-depth, day-long art experiences in printmaking and papermaking. This spring, these classes were taught by artists-in-residence, Ivana Carmen @ivanacarman, Em Miller @cypressure, and Jo Locke @jolockeart. Join us Friday to view the artwork made by 4th grade students from Chambers, E.R. Crosby, and Harry L. Edson Kingston Elementary schools.

👯‍♀️♾️Printing to Infinity: Creating Repeat Patterns, August 17 - 21
Turn almost any type of image into an endless repeat pattern and explore the potential of what can be done with repeatable prints! Your prints will be modular components that can be tiled together infinitely (or until you run out of prints!) and used to create large scale wall installations, wallpaper, for covering 3D objects, or used in mixed media artwork.

You can extend the skills you learn beyond the class, as this method of creating a repeat pattern can be applied to other print media as well as digital image making methods. Link in bio for full description.
