#FirstFriday: March Exhibitions We Love!

Highlighting exhibitions that feature the work of WSW artists, we share the shows near and far that make up our monthly must-see list.


New York

Aurora Brush (Studio Intern ’19), Lorraine Cruz (Studio Intern ’19), Nina Rivera (Ceramics Intern ’19), Sarah-Anne Winchester (Ceramics Intern ’19), and Emily Wortmann (Nonprofit Management Intern ’19) are part of the group exhibition, Balancing Act, on view at Women’s Studio Workshop. The opening reception is March 10th from 5:30 to 6:30 pm and the show is on view until March 22nd.

Tana Kellner (WSW Founder) and Jenny Snider (Artist’s Book Residency Grant ’83) are featured in the show, FemGens, on view at Arts Society of Kingston. The opening reception is March 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 pm and the show is on view until March 28th.

Amanda Thackray

Amanda Thackray (Artist’s Book Residency Grant ’09) is featured in the group exhibition, Plant Cure, at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. The opening celebration is March 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00pm and the show is on view until November 15th.

Padma Rajendran (Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant ’18) has an exhibition, Move Me With You, on display at BRIC until June 7th.

Amanda Thackray (Artist’s Book Residency Grant ’09) is part of the group exhibition, A Romantic Comedy, on view at 25 Kent through March 31st.

Sidney Mullis (Studio Workspace Residency ’19) has a solo exhibition, Of Ash and Ice, at Wick Gallery on display until March 15th.

Lise Prown (Chili Bowl Workspace Residency ’17) has work featured in the exhibition, Collecting Local, at the Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art on view from February 8th to July 12th.


California

Jen P. Harris (Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant ’12) has a solo exhibition, Janus, on view at Edgar Gallery through April 4th.

Jen Cole (Studio Workspace Resident ’17) is featured in the group exhibition, 31 Women, on view at the Whitney Modern Gallery. The opening reception will take place on March 8th from 12:00 to 4:00 pm and the show will be on display until April 12th.

Jen Cole (Studio Workspace Resident ’17) has an exhibition, A Life in Prints, at the Sonoma Community Center, on view through March 28th.

Kyung Eun You‘s (Artist’s Book Resident ’19) WSW published artist’s book, Where Are We Now, will be featured in the exhibition (retro)(intro)spection at the San Francisco Center for the Book on view until April 19th.

Bhavna Mehta (Studio Workspace Residency ’18) has work in the group exhibition, Illumination: 21st Century Interactions with Art+Science+Technology. The show is on view at San Diego Art Institute until May 3rd.


Massachusetts

Roberley Bell (Artist’s Book Resident ’03) has a solo exhibition, Light in the Middle of the Day, on view at Readywipe Gallery through March 21st.


Washington

Sarah-Anne Winchester

Sarah-Anne Winchester (Ceramics Internship ’19) has work featured in Saltstone Ceramics’ Mug Madness 2020. Shop online, in store, and vote for your favorite mugs on Instagram until March 31st!


India

Radha Pandey (Art-in-Ed Artist’s Book Residency Grant ’15) is leading a Book Arts & Culture Tour through India taking place from December 19th 2020 to January 2nd 2021. Register here until March 15th!


Cornwall, England

Emily Speed (Artist’s Book Residency Grant ’07, Public Art Residency Grant ’15) has her film and installation, Rooms Designed for a Woman, on display at Tate St Ives through May 3rd.
