#FirstFridays: June Edition

June 4, 2026 by

Every month, we highlight exhibitions, events, and workshops that feature WSW alumnx artists. We share the shows near and far that make up our monthly must-see list.

New York

June 5 – September 18: On Friday, June 5th, from 6-8PM join us at WSW’s campus in Rosendale for the opening reception of Rock, Paper, Sister! This two-person exhibition featuring Kate Bingaman-Burt (Oregon) and Elizabeth Saloka (New York) explores how the mundane accrues significance. Moving between accumulation and intimacy, the exhibition asks what it means to notice and to keep. This event is free and open to the public.

722 Binnewater Lane, Kingston, NY 12401

June 13: Join Julie Evanoff (Studio Residency Grant, 2006, Public Mural Art Grant, 2026) Saturday, June 13th, from 4-7PM, at Giorno Poetry Systems for the launch of Repetition and Ruins: The Art of Radical Political Thinking. Featuring a conversation by co-authors and collaborators Julie Evanoff and Dalie Giroux “Repetition and Ruins contemplates and questions our current shared condition as twenty-first-century earthlings living in, by, and against power accumulators: capitalism and the state. The book’s images and concepts are an invitation to notice and interpret the connection between these power accumulators and daily life.” Books will be available for purchase and signing. This event is free with RSVP.
