Back by popular demand! Everyday Whimsy Redux with Back by popular demand! Everyday Whimsy Redux with Lora Shelley @lorashelley will be back Thursdays from 5-7PM, May 21st to June 25th. This class is currently in the members-only registration period and will open to all for registration on Friday, April 3rd.

Learn to make imaginative functional objects for your everyday life! In this class we will explore different methods of hand-building— including slab, coil, pinch, and hollowing out a form. Embracing experimentation and play, we’ll dream up whimsical designs and make them come to life. Make your own small custom accessories. Brighten up your kitchen counter with a raccoon sugar bowl and matching spoon. Make a squirrel-themed paint palette with mushroom brush rest and woodsy water vessel. The possibilities are endless!

Don’t miss “Women’s Work: Organizing New York Inde Don’t miss “Women’s Work: Organizing New York Independent Film & Video” at the Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center @theloeb at Vassar College @vassarcollege! The exhibition is on view until May 24, 2026.

Featuring film screening posters from WSW’s archives, “this exhibition reframes women’s work, showcasing and celebrating the organizing labor that enabled groundbreaking film, video, and community media collectives like Third World Newsreel, Paper Tiger Television, and Women Make Movies to pursue new forms of self expression and advocate for political change from the 1960s-1990s.”

We recently said farewell to artist-in-residence I We recently said farewell to artist-in-residence Ivana Carman @ivanacarman who joined us for our Art-In-Ed Workspace Residency. While at WSW, she was focused on exploring synthetic versus organic forms through a screenprinting project by overlapping handpainted and digital marks, and monotype color studies that had a focus on nature.

Carman describes her paintings, “[they] inhabit a realm that exists at the intersection of the real and synthetic. Through an assemblage of painting, drawing, photography, and printmaking, I create convincing illusions that fracture with dissonance.” For more information visit her website, ivanacarman.art.
WSW’s latest tote design by former intern, Erin Mo WSW’s latest tote design by former intern, Erin Moore @bugprints is inspired from exploring early ephemera in our archive. They discovered numerous references (images 2-4) that used a grid pattern between 1979 and 1983. This is one example of how folks can use our archival resources and respond to our legacy of print and design.

Totes are printed in white ink on blue cotton in an edition of 200, gusseted, measuring 14”W x 17”H x 7”D. Available to purchase on campus or online (link in bio) for $32.00 or when you sign up for a WSW membership at the Contributor level and above. Printed by Oddities @oddities_prints.
