*Artist Opportunity* Applications are open for a n *Artist Opportunity* Applications are open for a new residency opportunity at WSW! The inaugural Carolȳnne Whitefeather Regional Grant follows in the footsteps of the Ora Schneider Artist in Residency Program (2006–2024), and provides opportunities for regional artists. Apply by 11:59PM EST on March 15th. 

The Carolȳnne Whitefeather Regional Grant is a month-long residency for artists residing in Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, and Orange counties. This opportunity has been named by the funder to honor Whitefeather’s significant and innovative contributions to the field of printmaking.

WSW will award this residency to one artist, who may choose to work independently in any of our studio disciplines. Priority will be given to artists with experience and a working knowledge of etching or monoprint; letterpress; papermaking; or screenprinting.

We are also currently accepting applications for:
Public Art Mural Grant, due March 1st
Studio Internship, Fall 2026 Term, due March 15th
Nonprofit Management Internship, Spring 2027 Term, due March 15th

WSW is celebrating the work of Zarina (1937-2020) WSW is celebrating the work of Zarina (1937-2020) @hashmizarina (Artist’s Book Residency Grant, 1991) currently in two major exhibitions. 

“Ten woodcuts: based on Urdu proverbs” printed during Zarina’s residency is featured in “Urdu Worlds” at Ishara Art Foundation @isharaartfoundation in Dubai. A two-person exhibition of Zarina and Ali Kazim’s works, curated by Hammad Nasar. The exhibition is the United Arab Emirates first contemporary art exhibition dedicated to the Urdu language exploring how language provides the tools with which we create and shape our internal ‘worlds’. Closer to home in NYC, “Beyond the Stars” at Luhring Augustine @luhringaugustine is the gallery’s first show of the artist’s work since her death in 2020. Featuring works that span the artist’s seven-decade career, the exhibition highlights the breadth and enduring relevance of her artistic vision, bringing together works across a range of media from woodcut, collage, and print portfolios, to cast-paper and other sculptural pieces. Underscoring Zarina’s deep engagement with the history, politics, and culture of the twentieth century. On view until March 28th📍17 White Street, New York, NY.

*Artist Opportunity* Applications are open for a n *Artist Opportunity* Applications are open for a new residency opportunity at WSW! The inaugural Carolȳnne Whitefeather Regional Grant follows in the footsteps of the Ora Schneider Artist in Residency Program (2006–2024), and provides opportunities for regional artists. Apply by 11:59PM EST on March 15th. 

The Carolȳnne Whitefeather Regional Grant is a month-long residency for artists residing in Greene, Columbia, Delaware, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, and Orange counties. This opportunity has been named by the funder to honor Whitefeather’s significant and innovative contributions to the field of printmaking.

WSW will award this residency to one artist, who may choose to work independently in any of our studio disciplines. Priority will be given to artists with experience and a working knowledge of etching or monoprint; letterpress; papermaking; or screenprinting.

We are also currently accepting applications for:
Public Art Mural Grant, due March 1st
Studio Internship, Fall 2026 Term, due March 15th
Nonprofit Management Internship, Spring 2027 Term, due March 15th

WSW is celebrating the work of Zarina (1937-2020) WSW is celebrating the work of Zarina (1937-2020) @hashmizarina (Artist’s Book Residency Grant, 1991) currently in two major exhibitions. 

“Ten woodcuts: based on Urdu proverbs” printed during Zarina’s residency is featured in “Urdu Worlds” at Ishara Art Foundation @isharaartfoundation in Dubai. A two-person exhibition of Zarina and Ali Kazim’s works, curated by Hammad Nasar. The exhibition is the United Arab Emirates first contemporary art exhibition dedicated to the Urdu language exploring how language provides the tools with which we create and shape our internal ‘worlds’. Closer to home in NYC, “Beyond the Stars” at Luhring Augustine @luhringaugustine is the gallery’s first show of the artist’s work since her death in 2020. Featuring works that span the artist’s seven-decade career, the exhibition highlights the breadth and enduring relevance of her artistic vision, bringing together works across a range of media from woodcut, collage, and print portfolios, to cast-paper and other sculptural pieces. Underscoring Zarina’s deep engagement with the history, politics, and culture of the twentieth century. On view until March 28th📍17 White Street, New York, NY.

We recently said farewell to our first artist-in-r We recently said farewell to our first artist-in-residence of 2026, Victoria Day @artistvictoriaday (Studio Workspace Residency). While on-site, Day spent time in our papermaking studio creating Hanji paper using a traditional Korean method. She was joined by collaborator Myong Jin @myongyee for a couple days during the process! Day also utilized the silkscreen studio to experiment with repeating patterns and bark lace.
