#First Friday: August Exhibitions we love!

New York
Emilie Houssart (Art-in-Education Workspace Residency ’22) is an organizer for an exhibition, “An / Aesthetics”, being held at the Century House Historical Society. The exhibition opening is on August 5, 2022 from 4pm-8pm and the exhibition will be up until Summer 2023.
Amanda Thackray (Artist Book Residency Grant ’09) is organizing a community papermaking event called RIVERBOUND being hosted at Green Fest in Riverfront Park. The event will be taking place on August 6, 2022 from 12pm-4pm.
Udine Brod (Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant ’15) has an installation, “Walk with Us”, on view in the corner window on 58th Street and 5th Avenue at Bergdorf Goodman. The installation is on view from now until August 28, 2022.

IBe’ Bulinda Crawley (Artist Book Residency Grant ’21), Hannah Bennett (Art-in-Education Workspace Residency ’19), Melissa Harshman (Studio Workspace Residency ’98) Hannah Moog (Studio Intern ’22) have works featured in a group exhibition, “Looks Good on Paper”, curated by Gretchen Schermerhorn (Studio Workspace Residency ’09) and Kelly Taylor Mitchell (Studio Workspace Residency ’21) at the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center. The exhibition is on view from August 19, 2022 to October 2, 2022.
Maine
Natalia Arbelaez (Studio Workspace Residency ’21) has work on display in a group exhibition, “Project M”, in the Barkan Gallery at the Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts. The show is currently on view until August 25, 2022.
Massachusetts
Macon Reed (WSW Microgrant Recipient ’21) has a solo exhibition, “Hello Death, Where Have You Been All My Life?”, on view at the Bresler Family Gallery at the Center for Craft. The exhibition is currently on view until September 16, 2022.
North Carolina

Colette Fu (Artist Book Residency Grant ’22) has two works on display in a group exhibition, “RETOLD | Chronicles and Other Stories” at the Penland Gallery. The show is currently on view until September 17, 2022.
Virtual

Vin Caponigro (Legacy Studio Residency Grant ’19) and Erin Zona (WSW Artistic Director) will be on a virtual panel diuscussion, “Sell Your Work: Books and Prints in Collections, Fairs, and More”, with the Mid American Print Council. The panel is on August 18, 2022 at 7pm ET/6pm CT.
Elizabeth Rose (Art-in-Education Workspace Residency ’22) has photographic works included in this month’s GUEST ROOM at Der Greif based in Munich. The curated works can be viewed online.
