February 1, 2022Highlighting exhibitions that feature the work of WSW artists, we share the shows near and far that make up our monthly must-see list.
New York
Golnar Adili (Legacy Studio Residency Grant ’15, Artist Book Residency Grant ’21) is opening a solo exhibition titled “Found in Translation: A Story of Language, Play, and a Personal Archive”, at the CUE Art Foundation in New York, NY. The show will be up until February 27th, 2022.
Anina Major (Studio Residency Grant Recipient ’21) has a public art installation titled “Haven No.3” on display in Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens, NY until March 6th, 2022.
Jennifer Grimyser ( Artist Book Resident ’08) is an exhibiting artist in the exhibition “Bronx Calling: The Fifth AIM Biennial” at The Bronx Museum of the Arts. The group exhibition will be on view until March 22, 2022.
Vanessa Adams (Art-in-Education Workspace Residency ’17) & Mary Tremonte (Studio Residency Grant ’19) have released a new publication titled EXUBERANT POSSIBILITIES, a vibrant and thorough dive into the images and ideas at the heart of the QUEER ECOLOGY HANKY PROJECT, a traveling exhibition, and program organized by Adams and Tremonte from 2019 to the present. The book is available for purchase through Booklyn, a book arts organization based in Brooklyn, NY.
Texas
Laura Berman (Studio Intern ’97) has a solo exhibition, “Temporalities”, that will be up at the Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking from January 26th, 2022 until February 26, 2022.
Minnesota
Irene Chen (Studio Intern ’96, Art-in-Education Artist’s Book Residency ’98) has a Solo Exhibition, titled “Chiroptera”, at the Minneapolis Center for Book Arts’ (MCBA) Outlook Gallery. The show is on view from January 20th, 2022 – March 20th, 2022.
Georgia
Kelly Taylor Mitchell (Studio Workspace Residency ’21) was a guest editor of the winter issue of Hand Papermaking titled “Call and Respond”, a magazine publication following the Summer 2021 Oral Histories and illustrating the ways in which artists employ oral histories as catalysts for world building and conveying story through craft.
Maryland
Gretchen Schermerhorn (Studio Workspace Residency ’09) has a solo exhibition, titled “Perception”, at the Tony Hungerford Memorial Gallery at the College of Southern Maryland (CSM). The show is on view from January 25th, 2022 to March 8th 2022.
Florida
Maya Beverly (Right Now! Publication Grant Recipient ’20) will be showing work in a group exhibition titled ‘The Universe Within’ at the Mindy Soloman Gallery in Miami, FL. The show will be on view from February 19th, 2022 – March 19th, 2022.
Connecticut
Catherine Nelson (Studio Workspace Resident ’16) has a solo exhibition, To Try and To Let, on view at the Dye and Bleach House Gallery in Willington, CT. The opening reception is on February 18th from 5-8pm. The Gallery is open by appointment on Saturdays from 10am-12pm.
London, England

Padma Rajendran (Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant ’18) will have work on display in a group exhibition curated by 106 Green Gallery at the Taymour Grahne Projects Gallery in London, England. The show is open until February 19th, 2022.
