#First Friday: June Exhibitions We Love!

New York

Lorrie Fredette (Studio Workspace ’10) will be in a group exhibition, Summation & Absence, at BioBat Art Space from May 17 – August 16, 2019. There will be a closing reception on Friday, August 16 from 7 – 9 p.m.

Tana Kellner ( WSW’s Founding Artistic Director) has prints in RISING TOGETHER: an Exhibition of Artists’ Books, Prints and Zines with a Social Conscience at The Center for Book Arts, which will be on view until June 29, 2019.

Tate Klacsmann (Studio Workspace ’15) was accepted as a new member of the Society of American Graphic Artists. See his work online here.

Jayoung Yoon (Ora Schneider ’18) is in Mono Prismatic Wave, at Queens College Art Center. The exhibition will be up until June 7, 2019.

Undine Brod (Ora Schneider ’15), Rachel Dubicki (Chili Bowl Workspace ’16), Katie Grove (Ora Schneider ’16), Cheyenne Mallo (Studio Intern ’11, Assistant Ceramics Studio Manager), andRuth McKinney Burket (Ceramics Studio Manager) are all in Art of Everyday Objects, a group exhibition at Wired Gallery. The exhibition is open until June 23.

Irene Chan (Studio Intern ’96, AIE Artist’s Book Resident ’98) is performing at ChaShaMa presents: GALA of Performance and Installation Art on Thursday, June 13, 2019. The gala itself runs from 6-9 pm, and there will be an Art Party from 9pm to midnight.

California

Beth Fein (Studio Workspace ’17) is in two shows in the month of June. She is in Bay Area Prints! 2019 at The Compound Gallery . The reception is Saturday, June 8th from 6-9pm and will run until August 4. She will also have work at the Marin Museum of Contemporary Art for the exhibition 10th Annual Altered Books. The auction and closing party will be held on June 1, from 5 to 8 pm.

Georgia

Lorrie Fredette (Studio Workspace ’10) will have work in The World Unseen: Intersections of Art and Science, at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum. The show will be on view until August 30.

Pennsylvania

Jayoung Yoon (Ora Schneider ’18) will be showing in Fiberart International 2019 at Contemporary Craft, open until August 24. The opening reception is on Friday, May 31st, from 5:30 – 8 pm. The Fiberart Forum will be happening on Saturday, June 1, 2019, 9 AM – 3:30 PM.

Washington

Katy Collier (Studio Residency ’12) will be at a residency at Alchemy Art Center in June and will be teaching workshops and a member class there as well.

Diane Jacobs (Artist Book Resident ’00) has work in OPEN SESAME! The Magic of Artist Books Revealed and is open through June 9, 2019 at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art.
