Cynthia Winika is a Hudson Valley-based multi-media artist whose work in encaustic has been exhibited and collected nationally. She came to WSW along with poet Anne Gorrick to produce the artist’s book Swans the Ice She Said, inspired by Ernest Shackleton’s voyage to the South Pole. Cynthia is one of the principle encaustic instructors for R&F Handmade Paints in Kingston, NY, and has taught workshops throughout the US, including in WSW’s Summer Art Institute.
