Highlighting exhibitions that feature the work of WSW artists, we share the shows near and far that make up our monthly must-see list.

New York

AfterImage Journal selected Kathy Hettinga’s (Artist’s Book Residency Grant, ’14) artist’s book 4 3 2 CRY, was selected as the Featured Portfolio Artist in Vol. 45, no. 6.

New Jersey

Nancy Diessner (Studio Workspace Residency, ’97; Production Grant, ’00) has a solo exhibition, All I Want Is To Be The River Though I Return Again And Again To The Clouds, at Art Center Gallery, Mirium Hall, Anna Maria College through April 12th.

Amanda Thackray (Artist’s Book Residency, ’09) has work in a group show, New Directions in Fiber Arts, at Montclair Art Museum. The show is on view now through June 6. 

Kentucky

Hannah Bennett (Studio Workspace Residency, 2019) has work in the group show Fabulous Fibers 2019 at the Yeiser Art Center in Paducah KY. The show will be on view from April 20 to June 8

Wisconsin

Hannah Bennett (Studio Workspace Residency, 2019) has two shows in the month of April in Wisconsin. She is showing a collection of work in an annual group show, 30x30x30, at the Var Gallery in Milwaukee. The show will be up from April 26 to June 15. Hannah also has a solo show in the Main Gallery of the Wisconsin Union. It will be on view from April 18 through May 31.

Colorado

Kathy Hettinga (Artist’s Book Residency Grant, ’14) has another artist’s book, DISPLACEMENT, in the Art of the Fold Exhibition, juried by Abecedarian Gallery. The exhibition will be shown in libraries around Denver, CO now and through the summer.

New Mexico

Hannah Bennett (Studio Workspace Residency, 2019) has a sculptural book form in the group show Superscript at the Form and Concept Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The show is on view from April 26 to July 13.

International

Carly Butler (Parent Residency Grant, 2015) has work in the exhibition Cognitive Sensations, running until May 2019 at The Cube, London, UK.

Butler also has a solo show, Send All the Lifeboats You Have at Ou Gallery in Duncan, British Columbia. Hurry, it closes on April 13th!
