Art-In-Education through the decades!📝🎨Since the 1 Art-In-Education through the decades!📝🎨Since the 1985/86 school year, Art-In-Education has brought students to Women’s Studio Workshop’s professional Printmaking, Papermaking, and Book Arts studios to work as artists with artists. In collaboration with the Kingston City School District @kingstoncsd, WSW devotes eight weeks each year to providing in-depth, day-long experiences for students. Each fall, advanced high school students come to WSW to work on projects to enhance their college application portfolios. In the spring, WSW works with 4th grade elementary students on projects to complement their classroom studies.

During full-day sessions, the students break into small groups and spend one day in each studio: Intaglio, Silkscreen, and Papermaking. These classes are taught by artists-in-residence, who are developing projects of their own at WSW. Each AIE session culminates with an art exhibition featuring student work made during the program.

⭐AIE has been ranked the best visual arts education program across all of New York State by the New York State Council on the Arts.

As we complete the 40th anniversary of Art-In-Education, we invite you to join us in celebrating the incredible young artists who explore new mediums in WSW’s studios.
