Andrea Chung (Studio Grant resident ’16) is in the newest ARTBOUND episode, “Artist and Mother,” now available to stream on KCET and Link TV. The episode examines the relationship between motherhood and the artistic practice—often thought near impossible—with artists Chung, Rebecca Campbell, Tanya Aguiñiga and Kenyatta A.C. Hinkle. Various other authorities weigh in—check it out.

Anne-Marie Lavigne (Legacy Grant resident ’16) was a guest on the budding new podcast The Weekly Weekly! She discusses Decoherence, a series made during her WSW residency. Find the interview on iTunes or Soundcloud 

Dani ReStack (Studio intern ’97, Artist’s Book Grant resident ’08) and friend of WSW and former board member Annie O’Neill will be honored at WSW’s 11th Annual Gala & Auction on May 20 at the Senate Garage, Kingston. We caught up with both of them recently: read about Dani’s life and work and Annie’s commitment to the Hudson Valley!

New York

Judith Hoyt (Artist’s Book Grant resident ’83) is showing work in the two-person exhibition Convergence: The Art of Mixed Media at Unison Arts Center, New Paltz. Hurry—show closes May 5!

Barbara Leoff Burge (WSW co-founder) will have work in Golden Age of New Paltz Part 2: 1963 – 1967 along with Ken Burge, former longtime WSW board member and great friend of the Workshop. The group exhibition will be at the Wired Gallery, High Falls, and hurry—it closes May 13!

Dani ReStack (Studio intern ’97, Artist’s Book Grant resident ’08), along with Sheilah Wilson ReStack, will hold a performance and film screening, Shameless Light and Strangely Ordinary this Devotion, respectively, at the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art, Manhattan. Don’t miss it May 22, 7 – 9 pm!

T. Klacsmann (Studio Workspace resident ’16) is showing work in the work in a group exhibition, Small Works (H-N), at the Woodstock Artist Association and Museum, Woodstock. Show runs May 5 – June 10; opening reception May 12, 4 – 6 pm.

Tatana Kellner (WSW co-founder) and Barbara Beisinghoff (Artist’s Book Grant resident ’09) are showing work in the IPCNY’s exhibition Paper/Print: American Hand Papermaking, 1960s to Today, Manhattan. WSW-published artists’ books of B11226: Fifty Years of Silence, Eugene Kellner’s Story (Kellner) and The Angel is My Watermark (Beisinghoff) will be on view through June 14.

Jayoung Yoon (Ora Schneider Regional Grant resident ’18) is showing work in the group exhibition Getting Personal at SFA Projects, Manhattan. The exhibition “puts forward ten female artists whose artwork express deeply personal thoughts, emotional energies, and societal commentary” to examine the role and representation of women in contemporary society. Show runs May 23 – June 17, opening reception May 23, 7 – 9 pm.

Pamela J. Wallace (Ora Schneider Regional Grant resident ’12) and Jayoung Yoon (Ora Schneider Regional Grant resident ’18) are showing work in the ArtsWestchester Triennial, White Plains, NY. Show runs May 8 – July 28; opening reception Sunday, May 6, 4 – 6 pm.

Northeast and Mid-Atlantic

Amanda Thackray (Artist’s Book Grant resident ’09) is showing work in Wonder Women 11: Eye of the Storm at the Harold B. Lemmerman Gallery at New Jersey City University, Jersey City, NJ. Hurry—show closes May 9!

Carson Fox (Studio Grant resident ’00) has her work included in the exhibition Through Our Eyes at DaVinci Art Alliance, Philadelphia, PA. The exhibition features work on paper by Linda Dubin Garfield alongside works by four of her mentors and teachers: Moe Brooker, Carson Fox, Francine Shore, and Christine Stoughton. Hurry—show closes May 13; opening reception May 6, 12 – 4 pm!

Kathy Hettinga (Artist’s Book Grant resident ’14) is showing her work, Dante’s Inferno: the Gates of Hell, in the Art for Great Books series, Veritas Academy, Lancaster, PA. Show runs through June 1.

T. Klacsmann (Studio Workspace resident ’16) has a solo show, Ex Amino, at the Tremaine Gallery of the Hotchkiss School, Lakeville, CT. Show runs May 5 – June 2; opening reception May 5, 4 – 6 pm.

DM Witman (Studio Workspace resident ’12) is showing work in the 2018 Biennial at the Portland Museum of Art, Portland, ME. Show runs through June 3.

Phyllis Kudder Sullivan (Studio Workspace resident ’12) is showing work in the group exhibition All Things Considered at the Society of Arts + Crafts, in collaboration with the National Basketry Organization, Boston, MA. Show runs through June 9.

Cheyenne Mallo (Studio intern ’11) is showing work in Sweet Suggestions, an exhibition of dessert wares, at the Worcester Center for Crafts, Worcester, MA. Show runs through June 15 in their gallery store (hours Tues- Sat, 10AM-5PM)!

Amanda Thackray (Artist’s Book Grant resident ’09) is showing work in the group exhibition Approaching Vibrancy at Gallery at 14 Maple, Morristown, NJ. Show runs through August 24.

Dana Lynn Harper (Studio Grant resident ’16) has a solo show at Manifest Gallery, Cincinnati, OH. Show closes May 19.

Megan Borseth (Studio intern ’17) has a solo show, What Makes You Feel Safe, at The Space gallery, Cedar Falls, IA. Show runs May 4 – 25; opening reception May 4, 6 – 8 pm. Check out the show promo here!

Carson Fox (Studio Grant resident ’00) has a solo exhibition, Sticks and Stones, at Linda Warren Projects, Chicago, IL. Show runs through June 2.

Laura Berman (Studio intern ’97) is showing work in the three-person exhibition Organic Forms at Olson Larsen Gallery, Des Moines, IA. Show runs through June 9.

Kathy Hettinga (Artist’s Book Grant resident ’14) is showing her diptych, Dairy Farm, Weld CO, 1980 and 2014, at Lincoln Berean Visual Arts, Lincoln, NE through May 20. It will then be on view at The Four Chapter Gallery, Kansas City, MO from May 30 – July 27.

Oh hey, Milwaukee! Rachel Kauff, along with Jen P. Harris, will have artwork on view in the exhibition Bridge Work at Var West Gallery!

South

Carson Fox (Studio Grant resident ’00) is showing work in the group exhibition Adornment: Beauty in Excess at the Walton Arts Center, Fayetteville, AR. Show closes May 25.

Britny Wainwright (Ceramics intern ’13) is showing work in the group exhibition The Beyond: Georgia O’Keeffe and Contemporary Art at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, Bentonville, AR. The show, which brings together 30 O’Keeffe paintings with the work of 20 emerging artists, runs May 26 – September 3.

West

Zoe Hawk (Studio Workspace resident ’16) has a solo show, Dreaming as the Summers Die, at Glass Rice, San Francisco, CA. Show runs May 4 – June 2; opening reception May 4, 6-8 pm.

Jessica Dupuis (Chili Bowl Workspace resident ’10) and Phyllis Kudder Sullivan (Studio Workspace resident ’12) is showing work in the group exhibition Fahrenheit 2018 at the American Museum of Ceramic Art, Pomona, CA. Show runs through July 22.

International

Elisabeth S. Clark (Studio Grant resident ’12) has a solo show, I Never Knew That Sand Had So Many Colours, at Galerie Dohyang Lee, Paris, France. Show closes May 26.

Suzanne Mooney (Ora Schneider Regional Grant resident ’17) is showing work in the two-person exhibition Unstable Foundations at Stephen Lawrence Gallery of the University of Greenwich Galleries, London, UK. The video projection on view is from work made during her WSW residency in the darkroom. Show runs through June 1.

Laura Manfredi (Art-in-Ed Workspace resident ’16) has a solo show, CARTE, at the Ca’Pisani Hotel, Venice, Italy. Show runs May 11 – June 10.

Dani ReStack (Studio intern ’97, Artist’s Book Grant resident ’08) and Erin Woodbrey (Studio intern ‘07) have their two-person exhibition Quill Isn’t Staying Now at Gaa Gallery Space, Cologne, Germany. Show runs through June 30. Check out gallery hours and address on Gaa Gallery’s website.

Ewelina Skowronska (Art-in-Ed Workspace resident ’17) is in the Shortlist 2018 online exhibition for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize in London, UK through June 30.
