🚨New Publication Alert🚨 The ‘Pause Apothecary” by 🚨New Publication Alert🚨 The ‘Pause Apothecary” by Macon Reed @macon_reed_studio is here! Reed invites us to dive into the world of all things menopause and peri-menopause through humor and their classic bold iconography and color palette. This publication is entirely silkscreen-printed and bound with drum leaf binding.

Produced as part of a growing movement to de-stigmatize menopause, “The ‘Pause Apothecary” began as an installation commissioned to help launch the first US national non-profit about menopause, Let’s Talk Menopause, in 2022. Taking the form of a fantastical pharmacy, each product addresses an aspect of menopausal and peri-menopausal experience. The Pause Apothecary is a catalog advertising the installation’s products, inviting awareness around experiences and building solidarity across healthcare issues impacted by gender-based discrimination, like menopause, abortion, and gender-affirming care.

Let’s dive into the shiny world of tin embossing at October’s Meet & Make! Transform plain sheets of metal into garlands, ornaments, frames, and so much more. We’ll have 6” x 6” tin/aluminum sheets, embossing tools, and more available for shared use. Please keep in mind this craft uses metal that may have sharp edges. If children are attending, they must be supervised at all times.

⭐Items that may be useful to bring along with you:
Photos, if you’re interested in making frames
Printed designs that you can trace

⭐This is not a workshop. Examples and printed instructions will be available as resources. Skillshare is encouraged, and we’re happy to figure it out together.

Come with a friend or make some new ones while you’re here! A suggested sliding-scale donation of $5-20 is encouraged, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Please RSVP if you plan on attending. This will help us best prepare the amount of supplies and snacks to provide for the event. Thank you!

SAVE THE DATE! We’re two weeks away from the openi SAVE THE DATE! We’re two weeks away from the opening reception of COSMIC QUEER, a solo exhibition by Boston-based artist Maria Molteni @strega_maria! Molteni will weave together recent works that highlight their intersection of interests in the cosmos, queer identity, and relationship with the Divine (and divination), as well as syncretic Catholic studies and practices.

COSMIC QUEER invites viewers to extend beyond binaries through play and prayer. Through a combination of site-specific installation components, the exhibition will incorporate elements from a growing body of work related to a grouping of Molteni’s ongoing projects: “Counting to Infinity,” “Stelle Scopa,” “Beautiful Seven,” and “Heart of Stone.”
