Join us on Thursday, April 23rd, from 5:30-7:30PM Join us on Thursday, April 23rd, from 5:30-7:30PM in Philadelphia at @theprintcenter for the opening reception of “America Today: Voices in Contemporary Print.” The exhibition compiles “contemporary artworks from mission-based printshops across the US, reflecting the state of American democracy on its 250th anniversary. The title America Today, refers back to a significant New Deal-era print exhibition of the same name. Both exhibitions highlight new voices in American printmaking that advocate for a consequential form of cultural democracy, with works varied in subject and style, and expansive in their ability to reflect the politics of communities nationwide.”

WSW is honored to be showing Artists’ Books from our collection alongside five additional workshops: the Coronado printstudio @coronadoprintstudio (Austin, TX); Self Help Graphics & Art @shg1970 (Los Angeles, CA); EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop @efa.rbpmw (New York, NY); Crow’s Shadow Institute for the Arts @crows_shadow (Pendleton, OR); and Brandywine Workshop and Archives @brandywine.workshop (Philadelphia).

The opening will begin with a gallery talk with artists and printshop partners, including WSW featured alumnx artist @alexiscallender followed by the reception. This event is free and open to the public. “America Today” will be on view from April 24 - July 25, 2026.
