Are all the coolest people you know suddenly makin Are all the coolest people you know suddenly making Risograph zines (and posters, books, cards, and SO much more)?!

Now are you thinking “what even is Risograph printing?” Well, it’s like if a photocopier and screenprinting had a baby! You can create stencils by using digital or drawn images, or you can collage right on top of the machine bed, but the Risograph machine does the printing, and each color is printed as a separate layer. The process uses soy-based inks and creates minimal waste, making it an eco-friendly printing option. The results are full of vibrant colors and a beautiful grainy texture that's specific to Risograph. On top of that, it’s affordable, accessible, and versatile!

Check out our upcoming Risograph workshops to join the fun! Play with halftones, duotones, and CMYK using RISO with Corinne Teed @corinneteed, or use your Risograph prints to create 3D forms with Caroline Kern @carolinekernz. *ONLY ONE SPOT LEFT IN EACH* Link in bio.

Junli has been focused on monotype printing with watercolours onto Eastern papers to depict landscapes and beings from her imaginary world, the In-Between Cosmos. She plans to eventually combine these onto Western papers through chine collé to create a pop-up book inspired by her Zhenmushou sculptures, adding a new dimension to her installation work and allowing it to be explored in intimate, everyday spaces. Zhenmushou are traditional Chinese tomb guardians, who enter her work as supernatural spirits within her personal mythology. Her work explores the fragmentation of memory, tradition, narrative, and culture.

Alex Callender @alexiscallender (Artist’s Book R Alex Callender @alexiscallender (Artist’s Book Residency Grant) has spent the past 6 weeks printing for her upcoming artist’s book “History Constructs the House that Sometimes Holds Us.” While in residency, Alex worked in our silkscreen studio and with our risograph printer to translate her drawings and archival research into printed material. She also used our Chandler and Price letterpress printer to include die cut elements to her book. Let’s take a sneak peek at production!

“History Constructs the House that Sometimes Holds Us,” is made in memory to those who experienced the evictions and community displacement of Urban Renewal’s removal and relocation process that disproportionately affected Black, Puerto Rican, and working poor neighborhoods. The book includes a collection of text, drawings, and images woven together from various records of tenant-based organizations in New Haven, CT, and New York City during the mid-century urban renewal programs.
