Susan Mills
Susan Mills is a professional bookbinder with over 20 years of experience. She first came to WSW in 1995 to make Ruderal Plants in Manhattan, a book about plants that grow in New York’s peripheral spaces. She returned in 2013 to create twentysix plants, which is made up of 26 sheets of handmade paper from 26 different plants harvested at or around WSW.
Susan studied book arts, performance, and video at Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD). She now lives and works in Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan, teaching book art at NSCAD University and bookbinding workshops at Creative Commons YXE. She also presents a bi-weekly podcast series, Bookbinding Now.
