Patty Smith
Patty Smith is a Philadelphia-based printmaker, book artist, and professor at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia. Her work examines her own fear, doubt, and daily experience as an artist and in 2007, began to address coverage of immigration politics on NPR. In the last few years, she’s formed an artistic partnership with French artist Claire Fouquet and has expanded her practice to include animation and performance.
While on residency at WSW, they printed their artists’ book, On the Other Side, in the silkscreen studio. More about their collaboration can be found on their project website: crowdsandbarriers.com
