Kathy Aoki

Since earning her MFA in Printmaking at Washington University in St. Louis, Kathy Aoki’s repertoire of processes has expanded to include sculpture, installation, and performance. Her works on paper are in permanent collections across the U.S. including the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, and many university collections (thanks to the Women’s Studio Workshop!). Fellowship awards include MacDowell (NH), Headlands Center for the Arts (CA), Lucas AIR Program at Montalvo (CA), and Frans Masereel Centrum (Belgium). Aoki has completed commissions for institutions such as the San Francisco Arts Commission, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts Museum, and the San Jose Museum of Art.

Aoki lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area where she is a Professor of Studio Art at Santa Clara University.
