Throwing 101

Kick off your summer with an adventure in the ceramics studio! In this five week class, you’ll be introduced to clay and learn the fundamental aspects of wheel throwing. This course is geared towards beginners and will cover wedging, centering, wall pulling, trimming, decorating, and glazing. After this class you’ll have all the skills you need to make work independently on the wheel!

$250.00 members/$281.25 non-members. Tuition includes one bag of clay and firing fees. Registration is online only, and is first come first serve. To inquire about the wait list call WSW at (845) 658-9133 or email info@wsworkshop.org.

Lena Chin

Lena Chin received her BFA in Ceramics from SUNY New Paltz in 2018. Chin is  interested in the physical movement of surface and its interaction with illustration. She creates porcelain wares that promote intimate moments, rewarding the observant viewer with intricate details. She has exhibited at Samuel Dorsky Museum, Art Centro, and the Women’s Studio Workshop Gallery. She was born and maintains a studio practice in the Hudson Valley.
