Writer, teacher, and activist Toni Cade Bambara said: “As a cultural worker who belongs to an oppressed people my job is to make revolution irresistible.” Participants will choose a cause or issue they are invested in, either rooted in their own identity or in alliance with a marginalized group, and then craft a poster to make it irresistible. Participants will create a one-of-a-kind poster, in your own voice, to carry through the streets or display in your front window. We will go over how to speak to your desired audience and how to edit for a quick but powerful read.
This workshop is currently in the week-long members-only registration period. Registration will open to the public on February 4th.

Oscar Maynard
Tender-Heart Press was founded by E. “Oscar” Maynard in 2017 in Oakland, CA. Oscar makes letterpress posters rooted in heart wisdom, collective healing, and liberatory spellwork. These prints are made from hand-laid type, and they are cranked through a vintage printing press, one by one. Their posters have been used on altars and in ceremonies. In 2018, one of their posters was turned into a sung prayer by Jewish Priestess, Taya Ma.
