We will spend the days outdoors much of the time, practicing the ancient activity of drawing the natural things of the world and letting their energy mingle with ours. Blind contour drawing, combining words and images on the page, simple watercolor techniques and alive handwriting will all be explored. When we listen to what calls to be drawn it can tell us something about ourselves in the moment. Trees will be a deep focus. No previous drawing experience necessary. All are welcome to take a fresh look.

In order to reserve your space in the workshop, we require a $150 deposit. Registration is on a first-come first-served basis, and you can read about our refund and cancellation policies here.

Artist

Barbara Bash

Barbara Bash is a calligraphic artist and author who is enlivened by joining image & word on the page. She has written and illustrated a number of children’s books on natural history and also True Nature : An Illustrated Journal of Four Seasons in Solitude. Her travel sketchbooks and visual blog continue to explore the practice of drawing and writing as a path of engagement with the world.
