The exhibition asks: What does it look like to explore multiple possibilities of dreaming in the studio? Over the past four months, the artists have worked across papermaking, printmaking, and bookbinding to meditate on alternate realities and imagined memories. We recently said farewell to artist-in-residence J We recently said farewell to artist-in-residence Jo Locke @jolockeart who joined WSW for our Art-in-Ed Workspace Residency. While onsite, Locke made denim and Abaca handmade paper, using pulp to screenprint images onto them, then wet stretching the sheets over magnetic wooden frames. They also pulled some large-scale sheets of paper and played with embedding objects.

Locke is an interdisciplinary artist based in Brooklyn, NY, working across papermaking, printmaking, movement-improvisation, and sculptural collage. Their practice blends craft techniques with assemblage using found objects and digital remnants to probe the shifting boundaries between physical and virtual life. Their work conceptually explores the Illusion of Progress: an investigation into how digital socialization has rewired the ways we connect, move, and inhabit space.
