Katie Ford

Katie Ford is a mixed media visual artist currently based in the Hudson Valley, NY. Ford has shown her work nationally and has been an artist-in-residence with programs including the Icelandic Textile Center, Elsewhere, Cabin Time, Have Company, the Charlotte Street Foundation’s Urban Culture Project, and the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh. She originally came to the Women’s Studio Workshop in 2010 as a studio intern after receiving her BFA in Printmaking and Drawing from Washington University in St. Louis. During her return as a Legacy Studio Resident, she began a new body of large, layered monoprints utilizing transparency, saturation, and visual haze. These works build off of Ford’s interest in the construction and reflection of emotional landscapes through the use of color and accumulation.
