KaKeART

KaKeART is the collaborative team of Ann E. Kalmbach and Tatana Kellner, two of the four WSW founders. Together they produce ironic, politically charged works including postcards, artists’ books, and public interventions. Their first project in 1982, Scene Around Rosendale, is a collection of postcards of contemporary domestic scenes and actual historic reproductions. For the past 50 years, they have collaborated on over a dozen artists’ books and numerous installations and revisiting the Scene Around Rosendale series periodically, recording changes in the town. Most recently, The Golden Rule and Keep Safe, a series of street signs commemorating the victims of mass shootings for the O+ Festival in Kingston, NY.

KaKeART has been awarded numerous residencies, including the Visual Studies Workshop, MacDowell Colony, the Hessische Landesmuseum in Darmstadt, Germany, the University of Southern Maine, and the Sirius Arts Center in Ireland.
