Akua Lezli Hope

Akua Lezli Hope is a poet and artist. She came to WSW from NYC to work in the hand papermaking studio. She holds degrees from Williams College and Columbia University and is a founding member of the Black Writers Union and the New Renaissance Writers Guild. Akua has been awarded two New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowships, a Ragdale Foundation United States-Africa Fellowship, and a Walker Foundation Scholarship to the Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center, among other honors.
