Lily Orset @lilyclementino recently completed thei Lily Orset @lilyclementino recently completed their Studio Workspace Residency at WSW! While on campus, Orset focused on silkscreen printing and binding an edition of 20 artist’s books. They also spent time creating a series of ceramic charms to include in future projects.

Orset is an illustrator, printmaker and publication designer based in Leeds, UK. Specialising in screen printing and risograph, their work centres around visual storytelling through a queer lens, exploring themes of connection and intimacy. Their interest in magical realism, non linear narratives and the natural world informs the prints and publications they produce, alongside a passion for zine culture and printed matter as a vehicle for documenting and archiving queer experience.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the openin Thank you to everyone who joined us for the opening of “Spring into the Studios,” celebrating the conclusion of our Art-In-Education program’s 40th anniversary!🌷⭐

“Spring into the Studios” features artwork by 4th grade students from Kingston City School District @kingstoncsd and will be on view in WSW’s on-site gallery until Friday, May 22nd. Visit the gallery Mon - Fri 9AM to 5PM to see this exciting exhibition.

Since 1985, Art-In-Education has brought students to WSW’s professional Printmaking, Papermaking, and Book Arts studios to work as artists with artists. Today, Women’s Studio Workshop devotes 8 weeks a year to hosting students from Kingston City Schools for in-depth, day-long art experiences in printmaking and papermaking. This spring, these classes were taught by artists-in-residence, Ivana Carmen @ivanacarman, Em Miller @cypressure, and Jo Locke @jolockeart. The exhibition features the artwork made by 4th grade students from Chambers, E.R. Crosby, and Harry L. Edson Kingston Elementary schools.

If you are interested in supporting this impactful program, consider donating today. Link in bio.

The Art-In-Education program is made possible by the NoVo Foundation, Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation, New York State Council of the Arts with the support of Gov. Kathy Hochul and the New York Legislature, Klock Kingston Foundation, Stewart’s Holiday Match Program, and Cowles Charitable Trust.
Unload the new gas kiln with us!🥣🍵🔥⭐ This new gas Unload the new gas kiln with us!🥣🍵🔥⭐

This new gas kiln was custom built by Justin Lambert @jlpottery, and funded by a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) @snforg, supporting our ongoing campus-expansion project to create a state-of-the-art ceramics facility.

We’re thrilled to have this kiln in our new space to enable advanced high-fire techniques, expand year-round programming, and provide professional-grade resources for artists working in ceramics. As one of the most significant equipment investments in our 50-year history, the kiln represents both a return and a reinvention of ceramics at the organization.
