Originally from Hong Kong, Mei Fung Elizabeth Chan moved to the United States to study printmaking, papermaking, and bookbinding at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. At WSW, Mei worked as a studio intern and developed a portfolio combining western intaglio and eastern woodblock printmaking techniques. Her work investigates social and political problems in Hong Kong, while reflecting on her hybrid cultural identity.
