Keg de Souza

Keg de Souza is an Australian artist working with mediums such as; artist’s books, inflatable architecture, food, film, mapping and dialogical projects to explore the politics of space.  This investigation of social and spatial environments is influenced by her formal training in architecture and experiences of radical spaces through squatting and organising. She creates pedagogical projects that are often site and situation specific and emphasising exchange.  A large part of her practice involves the creation of artist publications as a way to document and disseminate ideas explored in the creation of her work. At WSW, Keg designed and printed When You Hear This Sound, which is filled with anecdotal tales from her neighborhood in Redfern, NSW, Australia.  She has been self-publishing her artist’s books and zines for over 15 years and is a trained bookbinder.
