Deborah Dancy is a visual artist whose practice spans painting, works on paper, and artists’ books, exploring the tensions between abstract and figural forms, deep and shallow space, bright and muted tones. She was awarded a WSW residency to create a suite of large, mixed media intaglio prints. Deborah holds an MFA from Illinois State University and she has received numerous awards and honors, including a John Simon Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, an NEA Individual Artist Grant, and a visiting faculty fellowship at Yale University. She is a professor of painting at the University of Connecticut.
