Keiko Sono

Keiko Sono uses visual media, video, and text to create events and projects that focus on connections. Her process is guided by her intuitive pursuit for fun and pleasure, while the planning is based on how many connections would be made or strengthened by the project. She is a recipient of Arts Mid-Hudson Individual Artist Commission Grant and Pollock-Krasner Artist Fellowship, and served as Visiting Artist at SUNY Ulster in 2013.

Keiko Sono’s An Arrow Pointed Down (2015, 8 min approx.) three channel video was part of a multi-media live performance event with four composers and four video artists. Four new works were produced based on the text by Sarah Heady about the Hudson River. My video combines frame-by-frame animation with scenes from my life in the Hudson Valley. Music and audio by Bob Lukomski.
