The Pause Apothecary

Produced as part of a growing movement to de-stigmatize menopause, The Pause Apothecary began as an installation commissioned to help launch the first US national non-profit about menopause, Let’s Talk Menopause, in 2022. Taking the form of a fantastical pharmacy, each product addresses an aspect of menopausal and peri-menopausal experience. This book will be a catalogue advertising the products from the installation. Reed’s hope is people find themselves and their experience represented and also learn about those impacting someone they care about while continuing to build solidarity across healthcare issues facing gender-based discrimination, like menopause, abortion, and gender-affirming care.
