This book celebrates the struggle for freedom of the Falun Gong practitioners at Tiananmen. The Gate of Heavenly Peace (Tiananmen) in Beijing is a historical place, a place of impressive architecture, and a symbolic site imbued with complex consciousness and spirit emerging over the course of one hundred years of Chinese history. This series of stories celebrates the struggle for freedom of the Falung Gong practitioners at Tiananmen, the “Gate of Heavenly Peace”. This was the gate to the royal city. This was the gate that separated the rulers from the ruled.
Chir commissioned five wooden boxes to house a single edition of the book, one of which remains in the archive at WSW as seen in the featured image.
