Ceramic Class Volunteer Work Exchange
Women’s Studio Workshop reserves one enrollment space for a student to take the class at no charge in exchange for class assistance.
The role of the assistant is as follows:
- Schedule a visit to WSW prior to the start of the workshop to tour the studio and help get the space ready for the class (approx 1 hour meeting).
- Assist the instructor weekly during scheduled class times.
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to the start of each class day and stay 30 minutes after to attend to basic studio setup and cleanup.
- In WSW’s outdoor ceramics facilities, glazing takes place in a secondary location. You might be asked to be stationed at one of these spaces to assist other students.
In exchange for your assistance you get the following:
- Participation in the class.
- Access to the studio throughout the week to work on personal projects outside of class.
- Individual shelf space.
- 25lb bag of clay and use the studio glazes
- Participation in the communal firings.
Assistants must:
- Be available for all class dates: Thursdays, 4:30-7:30pm from May 21st – July 2nd, 2026
- Be able to lift up to 40 lbs, and carry materials up a flight of stairs
- Comply with the WSW code of conduct at all times
