Roxanne Sexauer
Born in the Bronx, New York, Roxanne Sexauer has both her BFA and MFA degrees in Printmaking. She studied with Mauricio Lasansky at the University of Iowa and at the State University of New York at Purchase, with Antonio Frasconi. In the past, she was awarded creative residencies at Palenville Interarts, New York; The Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences, Rabun Gap, Georgia; Dorland Mountain, Temecula, California; The Plains Museum of Art, Fargo, North Dakota; Black Church Printmaking Studio, Temple Bar, Dublin, Ireland; and most recently, at the Skaftfell Center for the Visual Arts, in Seydisfjordur, Iceland.
Recent solo exhibitions include Taproot, Brandstater Art Gallery, La Sierra University, Riverside, California; Sight Readings, Pete and Susan Barrett Art Gallery, Santa Monica City College Performing Arts Center, Santa Monica City College, Santa Monica, California; A 35 Year Survey of Work by Roxanne Sexauer, Fresno City College, Art Space Gallery, sponsored by the Central California Museum of Art, Fresno, California, and Vital Signs, Graphic Art by Roxanne Sexauer, San Luis Obispo Art Center, San Luis Obispo, California.
She has been on the faculty at California State University, Long Beach since 1989, and is a Full Professor in the Printmaking Discipline, where she teaches Relief, Etching, Advanced Printmaking, Survey of Printmaking, and the History of Prints and Drawings.
