A native of southeastern Michigan, workspace resident Pi Benio received both her BFA and MFA at Eastern Michigan University. With a background in ceramics, she has worked has been Fellowship Resident ( now Workspace Residency) in WSW’s papermaking studio twice, most recently to develop a series of larval sculptural forms that look untouched by human hands. Pi is currently a professor of sculpture, fibers, and ceramics at Adrian College.
