Cheri Gaulke
Cheri Gaulke’s performances, public art, video, and artists’ books are a vehicle for social commentary. In 1975, she joined the Feminist Studio Workshop at the Woman’s Building in Los Angeles, then co-founded the collaborative performance groups Feminist Art Workers and Sisters Of Survival. As a WSW Artists’ Book Resident, Cheri produced Impedement. Cheri holds an MA in Feminist Art and Education from Goddard College and has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the California Arts Council, and the Brody Arts Fund. Cheri has mentored hundreds of award-winning youth videos as Visual Arts Department Chair at Harvard-Westlake School.
