Nancy Cohen

Jersey City based Nancy Cohen’s work examines resiliency in relation to the environment and the human body. Recent solo exhibitions include “Atlas of Impermanence” at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey and “Force: Observations from the Interior” at Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in New York City.

Current work has been featured in the blogs Romanov Grave, Artists and Climate Change, Art Spiel, The Coastal Post and Less than Half. Podcast conversations with the artist include: ArtTable’s Artist Perspective Podcast and Helen Hiebert’s Paper Talk.  In June 2021 Cohen was featured in the PBS series NJ State of the Arts.

Awards include fellowships from the NJ State Council on the Arts, the Brodsky Center and the Pollock Krasner Foundation. She has been awarded residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Yaddo, The Millay Colony, Dieu Donne, Pilchuck Glass School, Bullseye Glass and The Tides Institute.
