Monika Meler

Monika Meler earned her B.F.A. from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. She continued her studies at Purdue University where she earned an M.A., followed with an M.F.A. from the Tyler School of Art, Temple University in Philadelphia. While at Tyler, Monika spent a year studying in Rome, Italy.

In addition to her residency working in WSW’s etching studio, Monika has completed residencies at Zygote Press, A.I.R. Studio, Paducah, Kentucky, Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, Emmanuel College in Boston, The Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Connecticut, Frans Masereel Center in Belgium and Cork Printmakers in Ireland. Solo exhibitions include The Center that Cannot Hold at FrontierSpace in Missoula, Montana, Fragile Structures at Gallery 1078 in Chico, CA, The Distance Between at the Limerick Printmakers Gallery in Ireland and Contain/Retain at the Cocoon Gallery in Kansas City.

Monika is an Associate Professor of Art at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
