Mary Jo Bole came to WSW from Ohio as a Studio Resident in Ceramics. Mary Jo’s sculpture, artists’ books, and works on paper are shaped by her lineage of Victorian culture and often informed by historical research. Her work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Detroit Institute of the Arts, and the J. Paul Getty Museum, among others, and has been recognized by numerous awards and grants. Mary Jo holds an MFA from Alfred University. A retired educator, she spent twenty years on the faculty of The Ohio State University.
