Kay Healy

Through her drawn, screen printed, and stuffed fabric installations, Kay Healy investigates themes of home, memory, and loss. Healy is an artist and educator originally from Staten Island, NY and received a BA from Oberlin College, and a MFA from the University of the Arts. Her installation Coming Home was purchased by the Pennsylvania Convention Center in 2016, and her screen printed fiber installation for the Central Library of Philadelphia was supported by the Independence Foundation’s Fellowship in the Arts. She has received grants from the Leeway Foundation to support interview-based projects with refugees and two NewCourtland Fellowships for projects with senior citizens. She  completed a residency in July 2018 at KKV Grafik Malmö in Sweden through WSW where she made work based on interviews with refugees from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, with support from the Swedish Women’s Education Association. She lives and works in Philadelphia.
