Julia Schrecengost
Julia Schrecengost is a multimedia artist with a B.A. in studio art from Oberlin College. At school, she grew interested in sculpture, bookmaking, and especially printmaking. She is drawn to experimental and spontaneous processes such as monotype and soft ground intaglio. She goes for walks and collects objects from nature, using them to create prints and sculptures. This physical re-contextualization examines the body’s relationship to itself, to its immediate surroundings, and to the idea of coexistence. Julia has interned at Artists Image Resource in Pittsburgh, and worked as a teaching and printing assistant for three years at Oberlin College.
