Jackie Battenfield
Jackie Battenfield is a visual artist whose work explores a fascination with the most abstract qualities of landscape. Her work is represented in over 500 collections worldwide including the New York Public Library, Montclair Art Museum, and United States Embassy Collections in Brazil, Cambodia and Jamaica, among others. Jackie is the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Award, the David Alfaro Siqueiros Award, the Arts and Architecture Alumni Award from Pennsylvania State University, and the U.S. Fulbright Specialist Program. Jackie is the author of The Artist’s Guide: How to Make a Living Doing What You Love. She teaches in the MFA Program at Columbia University, School of the Arts.
Jackie came to WSW in 2003 to experiment in our etching studio after several years working alongside master printers. She holds an MFA in Visual Art from Syracuse University and a BS from Pennsylvania State University. Jackie lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
