Thea A. Eck
Thea Eck came to WSW as a studio intern with a background in ceramic sculpture, installation, and art theory. After her internship, she earned an MFA at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. Thea’s work came to focus on 18th through early 20th century polar exploration narratives. From 2008-2009, Thea completed a research fellowship at the Arctic Institute in Copenhagen, Denmark and her culminating exhibition, “Angalavaa: An Archive Tale”, received an Artist Grant from the United States Embassy in Denmark. Thea lives and works in Ann Arbor, MI.
