Stacy Doris (1962-2012) was a widely recognized poet and translator. In collaboration with artist Melissa Smedley, she was awarded a WSW production grant for the book Mop Factory Incident, a play in three parts with text drifting from English to Spanish and back again. Stacy earned her MFA in English and Creative Writing from the University of Iowa and throughout her life taught at several colleges and universities including the University of Iowa and Hunter College.
