Kymia Nawabi
A first-generation Iranian American artist, Kymia Nawabi has developed a practice that ranges from sculpture to drawing and painting, incorporating a vast range of materials and textures. During her WSW residency she worked in our ceramics studio, building hybrid humanoid sculptures.
Kymia has presented her work in numerous solo and group exhibitions across the U.S. including, most recently, EVOKE Contemporary, Sante Fe, New Mexico, Seattle Art Fair, Soothsayer, also in Seattle, and SOFA (Sculpture Objects, Functional Art and Design), Chicago.
In 2011 Kymia became the winner of season two of the Bravo reality show “Work of Art: The Next Great Artist.” She holds an MFA from the University of Florida.
