Kristin Carlson Becker came from Idaho to teach silkscreen printing to fifth graders in our Art-in-Ed program, Hands-On Art. She graduated with a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Indiana University, both in Printmaking. At WSW she created screen prints and letterpress prints inspired by handwritten, mailed correspondence, specifically letters and postcards. Kristin is concerned with the relationship between writing, mark-making, and mapping; gestures that document the physical beauty and potentiality of language.
