Kate van Houten

Kate van Houten is an American visual artist living and working in Paris. Her practice includes one-of-a-kind and editioned artists’ books, printmaking, painting, and intervention/performance. Kate came to WSW as an Artists’ Book Resident to produce What Day Is It, a visual interpretation of text by Lillian Giraudon and the result of one of Kate’s previous interventions. In 1996 Kate created the independent press Estepa Editions as a vehicle for collaboration with artists, writers, and translators.
