Elise Wagner

Elise Wagner is originally from the New York area, but has been a working artist based in Portland, Oregon for nearly 30 years. Since 1993, Elise has been both an oil painter and an encaustic painter. With a penchant to push the boundaries of both mediums, Wagner pioneered the encaustic collagraph monotype technique which has been published in Encaustic Art: Creating Fine Art With Wax, Lissa Rankin, Watson Guptill and The Painted Surface, Jean Pederson, Northlight Books. Wagner has twice presented at the International Encaustic Conference in Provincetown, MA and has taught and demonstrated encaustic at numerous institutions throughout the country and Canada. Her work is held in private and corporate collections throughout the United States and was most recently published in 100 Artists of the Northwest.
