Ana Fernandez

Ana Fernandez came from Quito, Ecuador in 2004 to produce the artist’s book Never Develop an Appetite and Other Poems of Love and Havoc. Her work explores the intersection between the real and the fantastic through drawing, painting, writing, education and art based social practice.

Ana has exhibited her work throughout Latin America, Spain, Italy and the United States. She has received the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award as well as the Center for Public Life Award to develop an art program in Yungilla, Ecuador. Ana has been on the painting faculty at Universidad Central del Ecuador and Broward College, Ecuador. Ana received her BFA in Painting at the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from the California College of the Arts. In 2017 she is embarking on a doctoral program at Institute for Doctoral Studies in the Visual Arts (IDSVA).
