Vessels for Comfort: Rachel Dubicki in the Studio

Mar 11, 2016

For Chili Bowl Workspace resident Rachel Dubicki, being able to feel how far she has come is important to her growing practice. Two humble pieces in particular are her reminders: A… View Article

In the Studio: Sparking joy with Eleanor Anderson

Mar 01, 2019

In the WSW ceramics studios, Eleanor Anderson is rolling strips of clay, pinching and arranging them into grid-like patterns loosely in square and rectangular shapes. Feb 08, 2014

This powerful work is printed on handmade paper made from repurposed denim gathered from artists, poets, friends, and the artist’s own father who passed in 2016. The artist is drawn to denim because of its multifaceted and often conflicted nature. As the byproduct of two colonial thefts, cotton and indigo, it’s treated as the garb of the proletariat, but Davis Fegan posits that perhaps it is the uniform of manifest destiny.
